One month. In one year. The positive autism movement began! Autimism (rhymes with optimism) an initiative to put forth positive views of autism to shift the paradigm from awareness to acceptance…from misperceptions, negative stereotypes, and stigmas to understanding…from can’t to “Oh, yes we can (and will)!”
We began with an official international greeting for World Autism Day by our Mighty League Autism Ambassador of Hope, Conner Cummings of Conquer for Conner – My Special Love:
What followed was an amazing array of articles, interviews and photographs by autism mom writers, autistic individuals, photographers and organizations who are the role models for positive autism advocacy….including this video from MicahBoyGenius:
We’ll finish the month of April with “Autimisms,” the inspirational little e-book of optimism from the women who work with, support and love someone on the autism spectrum. We hope their words lift you up and help you on your own autism journey.
This doesn’t end our Autimism journey together…In fact we’re just getting started!
