We’re going to have some pretty cool features in our upcoming storybook app, The Mighty League, Vol. 1, thanks to our developers at Customizabooks. Now our hero, JMan, is near and dear to our hearts because he’s based on Jonathan, our real life aspie superhero. We’re hoping that our readers have an emotional connection to our story’s hero, too, so our techie team is adding the ability to change JMan into Jaycee! And just as nifty, readers can change the hero’s name to their own.
So super-boy or girl-power? In our app, it’s up to you to choose.
*UPDATE: Our book app won a Temple Grandin Award because when it was released it was one of the first times there was a character in an app on the autism spectrum. We realized that we had a bigger mission and became an autism storytelling nonprofit. Since its, we have transitioned away from apps and have recreated our Mighty League 1 and Mighty League 2 as interactive digital comics so they are more accessible. Oh, and both still come in a boy and a girl version.
