My dream Mother’s Day is a simple gathering of family. It does not matter where but it does mean the world to me who. I want my children (Conner & Bonnie) and my grand children (Mahala, Dakota, Solana & Maverick). I want my brothers and their families and my nieces and their families. I want everyone to just talk which always leads to laughter. I want my children and grand children to hear stories of how my brothers and I grew up-the amazing Parents who raised us. I want to hear stories from my daughter and son-in law all about their lives and their dreams. And I want to hear each grandchild share who they are with me and all the other family members talk and laugh about day to day life. That is my dream.
I am blessed that I feel loved every day by my family. Sadly many of our loved ones our gone but we keep their memories alive every time we get together. We show our love by laughter and stories and song. We support each other by attending our children’s events and truly taking an interest in what each one of us is doing.
The song I choose is “I hope you dance” by Lee Ann Womack. I grew up dancing with my Dad- my daughter introduced the song to me and I dance often with Conner. We dance every year to the band in the Grand Floridian at Disney World to Beauty and the Beast. Conner surprised me by giving me the best gift of all when he asked me to dance with him at his high school graduation.
I hope you never lose your sense of wonder,
You get your fill to eat but always keep that hunger,
May you never take one single breath for granted,
GOD forbid love ever leave you empty handed,
I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean,
Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens,
Promise me that you’ll give faith a fighting chance,
And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance.
I hope you dance….I hope you dance.
