T2G Dorktales

We’re over the moon excited that our Dorktales Storytime audio tales are on the award-winning Tales2Go audio service. They are a part of the extraordinary library of audio stories for children from pre-school through 8th grade.  Thousands of titles are available both online and offline on computers, laptops and mobile devices.

The company received $750 million in funding from NewSchools Venture Fund and Maryland Venture Fund because they are poised to meet the demanding needs of the Common Core requirements, especially in specific listening requirements by grade, as part of a dedicated strand on speaking and listening skills. Research shows that there is a link between listening, vocabulary and proficient reading. Tales2Go audio stories (including Dorktales) can help children with their comprehension, fluency, phonics and vocabulary.

tales2goCarFor families, the first 30 days are free and then the service costs $10 a month to use from five devices (smartphones, tablets, laptop or desktop computers included). What a great form of entertainment with educational benefits (and peace and quiet) for a road trip, while en route to and from school and activities, or at bedtime!

Even though I am just trying you guys out so far I have already had a victory. Every morning my 7yr old usually gets up and starts playing games or watching useless videos on his iPad before going off to camp. Yesterday we loaded Tales2Go and he really liked it. This morning when I went in to say goodbye before leaving for work…..I said what are you doing he showed me……listening to books from Tales2Go. I am one happy Mom!

Tales2Go audio stories are being used in the classroom too with tremendous results. Fluency improves and comprehension grows, plus the children like using it! Schools can get an annual license that includes unlimited access on all school-owned devices and a take-home license for each student and faculty member.

It has been an amazing pleasure to see my reluctant readers become more enthusiastic towards reading to the extent of even asking to stay in at recess, just so they can finish listening to their book on Tales2Go. Being able to provide these students the ability to pracTales2Go Schooltice reading skills in an engaging way is important in helping them build their foundation for reading, writing and language acquisition.
