Margaux is an #ActuallyAutistic blogger who lives near Vancouver, Canada. They love art, crafts, cats, tea, traveling, and watching a few of their favorite reality TV shows. Margaux blogs about their life as one of the ways they advocate for themselves and the autistic community.

Your blog:

Navigating Life: My Unique Journey

Your City, Country:

Vancouver, Canada

Inspiration for Writing a Blog:

Navigating Life: My Unique Journey logoI wanted to write a blog for a very long time but I just had no idea what it would be about. Once I got my diagnosis of Autism two years ago, I felt as though it would be a great topic in which to have my blog grounded in.

Intention or Mission of Your Blog:

My intention is to share my journey and my life as an Autistic person with the world! I’ve been so lucky to have many opportunities.

Topics you write about:

I write about autism, cats, product reviews and anything that hits me. I try to post 1-2 times a week but it’s incredibly sporadic.

Most Proud of:

I was on the cover of some local newspapers and lately I’ve been able to be an outspoken advocate for the #ActuallyAutistic community on television, radio and in the written word as well.

Your Top 3 favorite posts:

“If you care about Autistic people….”

My focus was on why April is the cruelest month. I feel like I provided a very informative post and brought some attention to something that the Autistic community is plagued with: Autism Speaks.

Travel with Me! Nelson, BC: Part 2

I felt like this was a chance for me to show off what I’ve got when it comes to travel blogging. I love traveling and I really wanted to showcase what this quaint town in my neck of the woods had to offer.

Featured in…

This post was really amazing to me. I felt really invigorated to see myself on the cover of the newspaper doing what I love: Advocating AND Art.

What People Will Take Away Reading Your Blog:

I would love them to be able to connect with me, watch my videos and maybe take something away from it. Whether it’s a learned experience, they enjoy my content or they want to share, I feel as though there’s something for everyone and I strive to make relatable, personal content that resonates.

Now it’s time to share your geeky side with us…after all, we are ‘Geek’ Club Books!

Theme Song: The Monkees Theme Song has always struck a chord with me.

Quote you live by: “I am who I am and that’s all I ever can be”

Book you couldn’t put down until you finished it: The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants

Favorite technology: Laptops are amazing.

Fantasy or Sci Fi: Is it okay to prefer Non-Fiction, realistic stuff? I am still geeky (I swear ?)

More ways to connect with Margaux:

  • Blog Facebook Page
  • Buy their art on Big Cartel
  • Watch their videos on YouTube
